Scalextric C3654 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L88

June 15-16, 1974: Le Mans 24 Hours. Car no.51 was driven by French drivers Henri Greder and Marie-Claude Charmasson. No.51 Chevrolet Corvette was powered by a Chevrolet 7.0L V8. 253 laps were completed. The fastest Porsche Carrera now qualified nearly 10 seconds a lap faster, and the Ferrari Daytona 7 seconds faster than Greder/Beaumont. At mid race, the Corvette was in 27th position overall, while the first Carrera was 5th and the Ferrari Daytona 6th. Greder/Beaumont finished in 18th place after ignition, water pump and battery problems, as well as the loss of 1st and 2nd gear. With a 10th in the GT class finish, they were nearly 600 kms behind the class leader Grandet/Bardini with their 365 GTB4 who finished 5th. The car was sold in the US in 1975, #194679S706401 later came back to France, where its owner enters it from time to time for historic events. It still has the dark blue paint job with the Travelers Cheque and #51. Henri Greder has had the opportunity to drive with his old racer on several occasions, such as “Le Mans Classic”, and “Tour Auto Historique”.

Scalextric C3593A Mercedes 2014 F1 Lewis Hamilton-Limited Edition

Limited Edition: 3,000

The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team unveiled the F1 W05, its 2014 challenger, at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain. Ahead of the first morning of official winter testing, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton took the wraps off the first all-new Silver Arrow to hit the track since 1954. Designed from the ground up as an integrated project between the Mercedes-Benz teams based at Brackley and Brixworth, this new car marks an historic milestone in a landmark year when Mercedes-Benz celebrates 120 years of Motorsport and the 80th anniversary of the Silver Arrows.

Lewis Hamilton began his racing career in karting in 1993 at the age of 8 and quickly began winning races and Cadet class championships. Hamilton continued his progress in Formula A and became European Champion in 2000 with maximum points. His team mate was Nico Rosberg who would later drive for the Williams and Mercedes teams in Formula One; they would later team up again for Mercedes in 2013. In his first season in Formula One, Hamilton set numerous records, while finishing second in the 2007 Formula One Championship, just one point behind Kimi Räikkönen. He won the World Championship the following season. He is the only driver on the current grid to have won at least one race in each season he has competed in to date, with McLaren from 2007 until 2012, and with Mercedes since 2013. Mercedes won the Formula One Constructors’ Championship in 2014 and Lewis Hamilton drove the No.44 car home to take a Championship win with eleven 1st place finishes and, excepting retirements, was always on the podium.
