Scalextric C3729 Mercury Cougar XR7 Trans-Am 1967
After a successful 1966 season privately campaigning a Shelby GT-350, Mark Waco was able to secure sponsorship from renowned Indy car owner Bob Estes to compete in SCCA racing.
The Bob Estes 1967 Cougar XR7 racked up 6 wins in 10 races in the 1967 season and 6 of 17 races in 1968. Famously, the Mercury Cougar was running in 4th place at the 1968 Mission Bell 250 Trans Am race at Riverside, CA before a broken brake rotor put the car all the way back to 15th place.

Scalextric C3826A 60th Anniversary Collection no. 6-1960s, Jaguar E-Type Limited Edition
Despite being debuted in the 1950s, it was the 60s that really saw Scalextric come to prominence as one of the best known toys across the globe. With countless new cars, from the Ferrari 250SWB and Jaguar E-type, right down to Go-Karts and the humble Mini; Scalextric had a car for everyone to race at home. Countless accessory buildings and track pieces were added and the range blossomed, with superstars like the Beatles even having a go! But the celebrity endorsements were not limited to pop stars, Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Various other racing drivers of the era all had their own Scalextric sets.
No other car symbolises the swinging sixties quite like the Jaguar E-type, manufactured by Jaguar Cars Ltd between 1961 and 1975 its combination of beauty, high performance and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of 1960s motoring. On its release Enzo Ferrari called it “The most beautiful car ever made”, the Lightweight was also very successful on track and in smaller races with Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori seeing the top step of the podium in E-types. In Australia Bob Jane won the 1963 Australian GT Championship in an E-type Lightweight and even today it continues to be a force to be reckoned with in classic GT racing around the world.

Carrera 23820 BMW M1 Procar, “Regazzoni No.28” 1979 Digital 124
More than just a side-show
The reputation of the BMW M1 as an archetypal supersportscar was partly built on an event that was staged in 1979 when the very best Formula 1 drivers got together in Belgium, the first time around for a competition against 15 touring car specialists to find the best drivers of all. Due to its popularity the event immortalised the M1. The BMW M1 with 470 hp under the hood guaranteed absolutely thrilling races. The 6-cylinder M88 was used for regular racing and conventionally tuned. Several famous racing drivers such as Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet and Alan Jones were fans of this car.
The BMW M 1 Procar ‘Regazzoni No. 28’, 1979 has operating head and tail lights and faithfully reproduced details.

Carrera 23821 BMW M1 Procar, “BASF No.80” 1980, Digital 124
Podium finishes again and again
In 1980, a year after the magnificently successful Procar launch, the races were no longer exclusively held under the auspices of Formula 1 management. GS Tuning brought BASF on board as a sponsor to make the BMW M1 ultra-stylish with white spirals on a red background. After 9 championship races Hans Heyer ended up in seventh place, but in terms of design the BASF deserved to be at the very top of the podium.
The BMW M1 Procar ‘BASF No.80’, 1980 has operating head and tail lights and faithfully reproduced details.

Goodwood Revival Commemorative Two-Car Set
Back in the autumn of 1998, motor racing returned to Goodwood for the first time in over 30 years. What was once an integral part of the British racing scene, Goodwood enjoyed the best motor racing had to offer from 1948 to 1966. Boasting attendance from some of the top drivers of day, the circuit saw some epic battles and cars now considered classic all over the world. With greats such as Juan Manuel Fangio, Stirling Moss, Mike Hawthorn and Jim Clark taking part, to name but a few, Goodwood will be forever associated with this special time in motor racing.
Goodwood Revival recreates and celebrates this fact today for a weekend every year, stepping back in time to enjoy the romance and glamour of this special period in motor racing. With everyone in attendance dressing for the period, and a ban on modern cars within the circuit on race days, Goodwood Revival is unlike anything else in the racing calendar.
