The “Pink Pig” is one of the most famous Porsche Le Mans cars. The Martini Racing Team painted one of the Porsche 917/20 cars pink with butcher-style cuts outlined on the car body of the number 23 car in the 1971 Le Mans race. The car dropped our in the 12th hour after an accident but the image lives on. Le Mans Miniatures produced an exact 1/32 scale replica (132024) of that 1971 Porsche, but there have been many “tribute” cars in both 1/1 scale and 1/32 scale, including one of the Porsche GT Team cars (number 92—that won the GTE Pro Class) at Le Mans in 2018.

The number 26 car was the final race for the March 701 in the F1 World Championship. Jean-Pierre Jarier finished eight laps behind the leaders, unclassified and last.
The March 701 was built in just under 12 weeks, between November 1969 and February 1970, at March Engineering’s factory in Bicester. Designed by Robin Herd, it features distinctive wing shaped side fuel tanks. It was powered by a Ford-Cosworth DFV engine matched to a Hewland DG300 five-speed gearbox. The March 701 won three of its first four races, starting from pole position three times, but suffered from heavy weight and high polar inertia. It was driven amongst others by Jackie Stewart, Chris Amon, Jo Siffert, Jean-Pierre Jarier and Ronnie Peterson.
