Welcome to the exciting world of Scalextric Digital. This set allows you to race up to four cars at the same time (two cars are provided), performing amazing, realistic overtaking and braking manoeuvres. You can switch lanes at the touch of a button to overtake or block your opponent.

This set includes everything you need to get started with Scalextric Digital – it features a large circuit and comes supplied with two Digital Chip installed cars. Additional digital cars are available or you can easily convert most standard cars to run on digital layouts.

The super resistant Lamborghini Aventador and Bugatti Veyton racers feature easy change pick-ups and the Magnatraction™ system to help them stay on the circuit.

Digital layouts are fully compatible with standard Scalextric track pieces.

The C7042 Advanced 6 car Digital Powerbase can be used to race up to 6 cars on a Scalextric Digital layout at the same time or be used on a standard Scalextric two-lane layout.

The unit has a clear user interface with two levels of features to suit both the novice and experienced user.

The Skill Level option allows you to adjust the maximum power levels to individual cars so that ‘novice versus expert’ races can be run more fairly.

Hand throttles can be calibrated to equalize controller performance.

Multiple gaming modes, timed endurance and total lap format racing.

Ghost cars (PACER) function for setting 1 to 6 cars to run automatically, with switchable lane changing and lap counting on individual cars.

Setting the car ID is easy via a simple, one-button action.

This Powerbase delivers 15v for faster car performance.

An ‘open-source’ output connection enables the enthusiast to connect the six car power base to a computer for additional functionality.

This new Powerbase can be used in analog or Digital power modes. This great feature allows the Powerbase to be used with standard 2-lane Scalextric circuits, using two cars only, or with Scalextric Digital layouts for 1-to-6 car action. All features are available in either mode.

Now the best of both worlds is available – an all-in-one race control system for analog and Digital racing.

Requires the 15V Power Supply sold separately (P9303) and two Scalextric Digital throttles (C7002)—also sold separtely). You will also want one or more C7036 Lane Changers. If you are upgrading an existing Scalextric Digital track you will need the C7042 and the P9303 Power Supply but you can use your Scalextric Digital throttles (analog throttles will not operate the system). NOTE: If you want a complete Scalextric Digital track conversion you can purchase the C7042DC (note the “DC” on the part number and the special price) Package that includes the C7042, P9303 Power Supply, two C7002 throttles, PLUS one C7036 Lane Changer.

The Digital Plugs to convert the cars must also be purchased separately—each car will require its own plug. Most Scalextric cars are Digital Plug Ready so a number C8515 Easyfit Digital Plug (for most cars) or C8516 Easyfit Digital Plug (for Scalextric Formula 1 cars) is a one-screw unplug/plug-in installation. For other brands the C7005 Digital Chip can be installed but the wire connections must be soldered. All three Digital Plugs (chips) also allow the car run on any brand of analog track (but not on other brands of digital).

The car enjoyed racetrack success all over the world, particularly in the 1970s and 1980s, and was often seen in the Deutsche Rennsport-Meisterschaft (DRM). 1968 saw Ford continue their successful attempts at the world’s greatest and oldest active endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. 2018 marks 50 years of Ford’s third successive win, and the first for a car sponsored by Gulf Oil, who’s famous blue and orange colours would soon become as synonymous with motorsport as the race itself.

Despite two of the three entered cars failing to finish, the winning machine of Rodriguez and Bianchi triumphed by a number of laps over the second and third place Porsches, with the race proving to be one of attrition with only sixteen classified finishers.

This set combines all three of the Gulf entered cars, as a perfect way to commemorate the first win at Le Mans for both Gulf and the Ford GT40 MKI, with the MKIV Ford and the MKII being victorious in both 1967 and 1966 respectively.

Scalextric C3946 Ferrari 412P Bonds Hatch 1967 7th, drivers Richard Attwood and David Piper The Ferrari 412P was a “customer version” of the 330 P3 race car, which was built for independent teams. One of these teams was Maranello Concessionaires, who purchased the 412P designated 0854. Having returned to endurance racing at Le Mans 1994, Gulf Executive Martin Allerton made the popular decision to take the blue and orange of Gulf Racing into GT racing for the 1995 season.

Until then, Gulf had been racing with the Kremer Porsche, that is, until Allerton met with ‘gentleman driver’ Ray Bellm who had recently persuaded McLaren to build a racing variant of the F1 Sports car. So impressed was Allerton that he signed the deal even before McLaren designer Gordon Murray had completed the designs for the new car.

With fellow ‘gentleman driver’ Thomas Bscher purchasing the first off the production line, Bellm snapped up the second and won the BPR Global GT title with Gulf Racing in 1996.
