NEWS FROM THE NATIONAL iHobby SHOW

We have news about products that are due by Christmas and in early spring from the National iHobby Show in Chicago:

Scalextric has announced the race set using their upcoming ARC (App Control System) system that utilizes an app so your tablet or smartphone will control and display lap counting and timing, race results, a listing of your racing stable, track planning and dozens of other race and car control options. Scalextric announced the system and described it in the 2014 catalogs as the RCS (for Race Control System) but has changed the name to ARC to more accurately reflect the system’s advantages. Ninco also has some new 1/32 scale sets at bargain prices (we will inform you when pre-orders are available in a future newsletter).

Slot.it had early unpainted samples of the 2013 Audi R18 e-tron quattro LeMans car with four-wheel drive (they are due in spring but you can pre-order now.

Policar displayed pre-production samples of their Lotus 72 Formula 1 cars (all are due in the spring —we will inform you when pre-orders are available in a future newsletter).

NSR announced a new 1/32 scale 2013 BMW Z4 (we will inform you when pre-orders are available in a future newsletter).

Mr. Slotcar had their forthcoming McLaren F1 GTR on display (which you can pre-order now—search MRS1045O). Mr.Slotcar also will offer an optional add-on front suspension with working springs and adjustable camber for the McLaren (we will inform you when pre-orders are available in a future newsletter). Carrera and SCX did not attend the iHobby show.

This week we have several new arrivals and a new new racing set from Scalextric available for pre-order.

Warehouse will be open to the public the first and third Saturday of every month from 9am-1pm.

Because we’ve had a lot of requests for weekend hours, we’re happy to announce that our El Segundo warehouse will be open on the first and third Saturday of every month. You’ll be able to come in and browse our huge selection of slot cars between 9am and 1pm.

The Scalextric C1329T ARC One (App Control System) set utilizes an app so your tablet or smartphone will control and display lap counting and timing, race results, a listing of your racing stable, track planning and dozens of other race and car control options. The set includes two cars and enough track (over 16-feet of track) to assemble into either of two figure 8s or an open road course.

Scalextric ARC ONE is a revolutionary slot car system that allows users to wirelessly create and manage races with a handheld smart device*, such as a smartphone or tablet. Download the ARC app, then connect your device via Bluetooth to the new ARC powerbase, unlocking unique features and control of your races. The two controllers and Power Supply (included) are connected to the Power Base track with the standard Scalextric cables.

Personalize your race by selecting features such as race type, driver names and number of laps. Customize and save your race settings and car setup, before you head out on the track to test your skills and challenge your opponent.
