Easy, low-cost performance increase for Slot It GTP/Gp. C cars racing with magnets on plastic track…

Install SIPT06 19x10mm silicone slicks (a pair of these comes as extra tires with most of these cars) and an SICN07 racing magnet. The tires slip onto the rear wheels and the magnet snaps into the chassis in place of the original magnet. These two simple changes make a huge difference in the handling of the car and produce much faster lap times.

The Jaguar XJR12 is a sport-prototype racing car, born in 1990 to replace the XJR9.

This full-size car featured a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. The engine was a V12 engine with two valves per cylinder. In 1990, displacement was 6 liters for the IMSA version and 7 liters in the Group C configuration; these values were increased in 1991, becoming 6.5 liters for the American version and 7.4 for the European one, whose weight was respectively 930 and 1000 kg. The XJR12 was employed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing in particular for the long distance races, such as Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans, as this car was very reliable and regular in race trim.

The car was a superb racer: in 1990, it finished 1st and 2nd in the Daytona and Le Mans 24 Hours races, and in 3rd place at Sebring. Later on, it finished in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place at Le Mans in 1991, and in 2nd at Daytona in 1992. Car #35, driven by Jones, Boesel, Feré finished 2nd at the 24h of Le Mans in 1991.

An ‘open-source’ output connection enables the enthusiast to connect the six car power base to a computer for additional functionality.

This new Powerbase can be used in Analogue or Digital power modes. This great feature allows the Powerbase to be used with standard 2-lane Scalextric circuits, using two cars only, or with Scalextric Digital layouts for 1-to-6 car action. All features are available in either mode.

Now the best of both worlds is offered – an all-in-one race control system for Analogue and Digital racing.

Requires the 15V Power Supply sold separately (P9303) and two Scalextric Digital throttles (C7002)—also sold separately). You will also want one or more C7036 Lane Changers. If you upgrading an existing Scalextric Digital track you will need the C7042 and the P9303 Power Supply but you can use your Scalextric Digital throttles (analog throttles will not operate the system).

NOTES:

• If you want a complete Scalextric Digital track conversion you can purchase the C7042DC (note the “DC” on the part number and the special price) Package that includes the C7042, P9303 Power Supply, two C7002 throttles, PLUS one C7036 Lane Changer.
• If you don’t want to tape the lane switch flaps shut when running analog, reverse the direction of the track.You also need two power supplies to run analog in both lanes.

The Digital Plugs to convert the cars must also be purchased separately—each car will require its own plug. Most Scalextric cars are Digital Plug Ready so a number C8515 Easyfit Digital Plug (for most cars) or C8516 Easyfit Digital Plug (for Scalextric Formula 1 cars) is a one-screw unplug/plug-in installation. For other brands the C7005 Digital Chip can be installed but the wire connections must be soldered. All three Digital Plugs (chips) also allow the car run on any brand of analog track (but not on other brands of digital).
