Cartrix 0970 Dan Gurney #30 Porsche 804, 1962 France GP
Porsche’s brief time as a factory entrant in F1 culminated in its only race-winning car: the 1962 Porsche 804.
At the 1962 French Grand Prix Dan Gurney qualified sixth and inherited the lead after Graham Hill and Jim Clark suffered technical problems. He finished a full lap ahead of Tony Maggs’ Cooper for his first Grand Prix triumph and Porsche’s only world championship win.
Yet shortly after Dan Gurney’s triumph in the 1962 French Grand Prix, the team cancelled its F1 programme, and has never returned to the sport as a full constructor.

Slot.it SICA23C Porsche GT1 EVO98 Jever
The 911 GT1 EVO 98 was designed by Porsche to compete in the GT1 category in 1998, at the Le Mans 24 Hours and in the FIA GT International Championship. The ‘98 car was a brand new model from Porsche. This was the first car built by Porsche with a carbon composite monocoque chassis. In 1998, the FIA GT championship was dominated by Mercedes, but Porsche was able to win the Le Mans 24 Hours.

This new series has the typical Scalextric sidewinder chassis and the cars are very lightweight so they are quick. The cars have colored one-piece bodies (with separate wing) with widows that are “tinted” solid black. The markings are supplied as a separate sheet of tough vinyl stickers so you can create your own custom racing team.
The body style is “Generic GT” but it is quite similar to the Dodge Viper GTS and the British Ginetta G50.
