The one driven by Pam and Zeccoli, with No. 2, did not qualify, but the other two obtained the second (De Adamich-Stommelen) and third position (Regazzoni-Facetti) of the grid.
The Alfa No. 7 suffered a serious accident during practice when Regazzoni was driving; he got off track and dump, which forced to abandon the race before starting it.
The only survivor, driven at the time by Rolf Stommelen, got the record for the fastest lap of the 72-kilometre circuit, with an average of 126.248 Km/h.
On lap 3 of 11 in total, Adamich Andrea after a pit stop, took command of the car, breaking one lap later the front suspension, which also forced them to abandon the race.
