1/32nd scale. Resin body. Hand-made in Le Mans, France.
Four Bugatti T32s were specially designed and built for the 1923 Tours Grand Prix, which took place one month after the first edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The very enveloping bodywork was remarkably avant-garde, as was the new Voisin (the manufacturer that had won the 1922 Strasbourg Touring Car GP).
But neither Bugatti nor Voisin were favourites for this event, which had been prepared for a long time and attracted crowds to the Valley of the Kings of France, even though it took place on a Monday.
Of the 4 Bugattis entered, the Bugatti No. 16 of Prince de Cystria got off to a good start and stood out even though it was not at the forefront... On the 12th lap, at the Membrolle bend, Lee Guiness's Sunbeam No. 2 missed its turn and ran aground in the sand, giving up.
