Jacky Ickx's Brabham BT26-3 shared the second row with Jochen Rindt's Lotus 72 at the 1969 French Grand Prix. Ickx took second place for most of the race under pressure from Beltoise. On the last lap Ickx dropped and finished third at the flag, improving on his 4th place starting position. Jacky Ickx won the German GP in a BT26-4 and the Canadian GP in a BT26-3. He finished second in the World Championship to Jacky Stewart, but beat Stewart whenever the Brabham was on form.
