With NC-9 FK130 motor, 20,000 rpm, in-line with metal pinion and a 9/27 gear ratio. New wider sport tires at the rear. This car appears to be a model of one of the Donovan Motorsports Jaguars that have been very active and successful in US vintage racing. Donovan's web site shows this car with race number 62, but the numbers have changed at times, probably to avoid a number conflict withe another competitor.
The chassis is narrow between the wheels. This design offers lots of room for wider wheels and tires for enhanced performance. It also looks like going to a longer bar magnet to produce downforce over more of the car's width would not be too difficult, and there appears to be room for a magnet aft of the shaft bushing mount. Relocating the motor aft and eliminating the drive shaft looks fairly straightforward, too. One of the first upgrades we will look at is swapping out the original wheels and tires for a set of Scalextric or Pioneer TransAm car wheels and tires and turning the Jag into an SCCA production class race car. This car has a lot of potential.
