To measure slot car motor RPM, you need to remove the motor from the chassis and install a DISC READER on the shaft of the motor (as pictured below). We recommend the disc readers from Samson Classic.

You can also measure the RPM by axle reader, also available from Samson Classic. Please note this method is not as accurate as the motor disc.
