Scalextric C3587A Ford XB Falcon-2-car Touring Car Legends-Limited Edition

The 1977 Australian Touring Car Championship cars. The two Scalextric cars represent the 1-2 finish at Oran Park in March 1977 for the Moffat Ford Dealers team in their XB Falcons before moving on to the XC Falcons in the latter half of 1977. Reigning champion Allan Moffat (Ford Falcon) dominated the 1977 season. In addition to his victory in the non-championship Hardie-Ferodo 1000 at Bathurst, Moffat won his third Australian Touring Car Championship, leading home new Moffat Ford Dealers team mate Colin Bond for a series 1-2 result. Moffat won the first five rounds of the championship, won a total of seven out of the eleven rounds and won the title by 32 points. Bond recorded a win at Adelaide International Raceway but was put under pressure near the end of the season from Peter Brock after consecutive wins by the Holden Torana driver at Lakeside International Raceway and Sandown Raceway in the Hang Ten 400. In the end Bond finished nine points clear of Brock.

Scalextric C3605 McLaren MP4-12C GT3

Team Bhaitec driver Daniel Lloyd endured an incredibly frustrating first visit to Zandvoort in The Netherlands over the July 5th/6th 2014 weeked, with changeable conditions in round three of the Blancpain Sprint Series ultimately costing the Briton and team-mate Sten Pentus a points finish. With conditions getting treacherous, Daniel had to make an unscheduled return to the pits for treaded rubber and eventually ended the encounter in 15th position with the McLaren 12C GT3.

Scalextric C3641 Peugeot 205 T16 “Pikes Peak 1987”

In 1986, after Group B rallying was removed from the FIA regulations, Peugeot used much of their experience developing the 205 T16 for the Paris-Dakar Rally and Pikes Peak Hillclimb. Their first attempt at Pikes Peak, also known as The Race to the Clouds, was in 1987 with the diminutive 205: the car that transformed Peugeot’s commercial fortunes after it was launched in 1983 and then went on to become a legend on the world rally stage thanks to the outlandish Group B T16 version. At Pikes Peak, the plucky Peugeot driven by Ari Vatanen fought valiantly against Audi but their Sport quattro won the event.

Slot.It SICA27B Matra Simca MS670B 24h Le Mans 1974

The Matra-Simca MS 670 was a Prototype race car that won the Le Mans 24 Hours 3 times in a row (from 1972 to 1974) as well as the World Manufacturers Championship twice (1973 and 1974).

The car was designed by Bernard Boyer and Jean-Louis Caussin. The long tail version, designed in ’74 for Le Mans, was still called ‘670 B’, ‘B’ being the distinctive letter of all Matras that were fitted with the Porsche 5-speed gearbox. The chassis was an aluminium monocoque, with fiberglass body.

The engine was a 3-litres V12 at 60°, with aluminium block and head; bore was 79.7 mm and stroke 50.0 mm. Its sound was extremely loud. The version used in ’74 for Le Mans was the ‘MS 73’, with a maximum torque of 320 Nm at 8400 rpm, reaching a maximum power of 450 HP at 10500 rpm. On the Mulsanne straight the car could top 320 kph. Brakes had Girling ventilated discs, all-round; in 1974, the rear brakes were moved inboard. Rims dimensions were 13” x 11” at front and 15” x 15” at rear. The car weighted 693 kg. There were three ‘670 B’s racing in Le Mans in 1974. Number 9 was driven by Jean-Pierre Jabouille and François Migault.

Slot.It SICA09G Porsche 956 KH Nurburgring 1983 (C)

The Porsche 956 and later 962 models could be assembled with two different rear wing configurations: “low downforce”, used mostly in Le Mans where the 6.5 km Hunaudières straight required a very low drag at the expense of downforce, and “high downforce”, for twistier circuits.

Regardless of the configuration, Porsche 956 and 962 cars were the cars to beat in any Group C competition in the early 80’s.This car, driven by Stefan Bellof in 1983, established and still holds the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time records. It’s qualifying lap time of 6’11”.13 for the 1983 edition of the 1000 km is unofficially the fastest lap ever driven on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in its current configuration. Bellof also set the fastest lap during the race, with a lap time of 6’25”.91, which remains the official Nordschleife lap record for all cars.
