History: The Jaguar-bodied, Ford powered XKR Trans-Am cars built by Rocketsports Racing were the front runners in the SCCA Trans-Am series in North America, along with Corvette-bodied cars, many using the same Rocketsports chassis with Chevrolet power . Several Jaguars were raced by the Rocketsports race team through 2005 when the series folded. (It has since been revived.) The Rocketsports name has long been associated with multiple victories in Trans-Am, IMSA GTO and GTS Competition, for team owner and four-time Trans-Am Series Champion, Paul Gentilozzi.
